The plan proposes a 10 m x 3 m mural consisting of 288 singular light
elements. Three lines of meander patterns in the primary colours run along the mural. With the aid of the computer three different velocities of illumination are programmed. Red and Blue flow on two separate levels from left to right. The yellow meander motive produces the contra-flux.
As a result a permanently flowing motive of movement appears. The idea of art being ornamental presents itself as a momentary image, as an abstract film about the intrinsic order of everyday encounters. People on the move, walking towards one another, side- by- side, passing by.
The animated meander form is a reflection of one’s own behaviour, which is perceivable for the spectator. The act of observation is the aim. Time that passes and the present that creates a permanent beginning. Traces of light, connected in a loop, embrace and encircle one another, suggest an infinite number of images. In the next instant the content is transformed to mere movement and becomes an end in itself.
